Your First AI Win: 5 Things You Can Do Today
Five things you can do right now with AI — zero setup, zero code, zero IT tickets. Pick one and try it before lunch.
Okay, enough reading about AI — let’s actually use it. Here are five things you can do right now, in the next 15 minutes, with zero setup, zero code, and zero IT tickets. Pick one and try it before lunch. Seriously. Close this message after you pick one and go do it.
1. Summarize a long document. Got a 20-page report, a policy doc, or an article you’ve been avoiding? Paste it into ChatGPT or Claude and say “Summarize this in 3 bullet points with key action items.” Done in 10 seconds.
2. Draft a difficult email. You know the one — the one you’ve been putting off because the tone has to be just right. Give AI the context: who it’s to, what you need to say, and the tone you want. Edit the draft instead of starting from scratch.
3. Explain something confusing. Paste in a technical document, a contract clause, an error message, or a policy you don’t fully understand. Ask “Explain this to me like I’m not an expert.” Watch it become clear.
4. Brainstorm ideas. Stuck? Ask AI “Give me 10 ways to improve our onboarding process” or “What are 5 angles for this presentation?” You won’t use all 10, but you’ll use 2-3 you wouldn’t have thought of.
5. Clean up messy data. Got a block of unstructured text, a disorganized list, or raw notes? Paste it in and ask AI to turn it into a clean table, a formatted list, or organized categories.
